Welcome to scotforthwest.co.uk the site promoting Alan Chard Independent candidate for the Lancaster City Council elections on 5th May 2011.

The site brings more information that can possibly be circulated on a leaflet and is kept up-to-date on a regular basis. Here you will find more information about Alan Chard the candidate and why you should vote independent rather than simply voting along party lines.

Please browse around and feel free to comment - you can use either the menu on the left or at the top of the page.

On the south side of Lancaster lies Scotforth. For the purpose of elections it is divided into Scotforth West and Scotforth East.

To most of us it's simply home.

Tactical Voting

To maximise the value of your vote for the only truly independent candidate for Scotforth West mark just one cross for CHARD on your ballot paper - that deprives the other parties of support and sends the clearest message that you are fed up with party politics.

Scotforth West councillors ignored my letter

All 3 of the existing councillors for Scotforth West ignored my recent letter sent to each them - so much for listening to the people and hearing what they say. Sadly the party system means that individual councillors don't have the freedom to do what voters want. Instead we have today's equivalent of the 'smoke filled rooms' where backroom deals are done. Only you - the voter - can change that. Start on 5th May by voting CHARD.
